ダコタ・ステイトン （Dakota Staton 1930年6月3日～2007年4月10日） はアメリカ合衆国ペンシルベニア州ピッツバーグ生まれの女性ジャズ・ボーカリスト。
軽るすぎず、重すぎず、個性も出し過ぎず、かといって無いわけではない。
全てにおいて当たり障りのない中庸さが備わっている歌唱。
１９５８年、トランぺッターのタリブ・ダウードと結婚。
彼はアンティグア島生まれの黒人でイスラム教だったため彼女もイスラム教に改宗する。
一時期 「アリーヤ・ラビア」 と名乗ったが、後に離婚した。

彼氏が言ったのか、彼女が言ったのか、考えさせられる。
ジャズの歌詩は裏に隠された心情や隠語を考えないと本当の意味が解らない、だから難解だが楽しくなる。
中には本場のアメリカ人でさえ理解できないものもある。
