フレッド・アステア （Fred Astaire 1899年5月10日～1987年6月22日） はアメリカ合衆国ネブラスカ州オマハ生まれの俳優、ダンサー、歌手。
舞台から映画界へ転じ、１９３０年代から１９５０年代にかけてハリウッドのミュージカル映画全盛期を担った。

ＣＤはフレッド・アステア、１９３１年から１９３３年の演奏 「NAXOS Nostalgia」 シリーズの１枚。
演目は、コール・ポーターの曲を中心にノスタルジアな気分になる。
フレッド・アステアが生まれたのは１８９９年、コール・ポーターが１８９１年生まれ。
ちなみに、チャップリンが１８８９年生まれ。
芥川龍之介が１８９２年（明治２５年）生まれ。
坂口安吾が１９０６年生まれ。
この様に８０年から９０年に代わろうとする時代、どことなく優雅で気品を感じる。
